Edge & hardware
When the decision has to run on the machine itself.
When the round trip to the cloud is too slow
The decision has to happen where the work happens — on the line, in the vehicle, on the device — and the round trip to a cloud is too slow, too fragile, or simply not available.
Decision logic sized to a real power and latency budget
Decision and inference logic that runs on constrained hardware within a power and latency budget you set, and that degrades sensibly when it loses its network rather than stopping.
Most of the engineering here is not the algorithm, it is the budget: what fits, what it costs per unit, and what happens on the bad day. We will size that honestly before anyone designs a board around it.
The ceiling we design toward is fixed-function hardware; every number on this page, today, is measured on an ordinary CPU — we do not quote a hardware number we have not run.
What the edge engagement leaves behind
- A measured latency, power and cost envelope on the target hardware — not an estimate from a datasheet.
- Defined offline behaviour, so a network outage is a degraded mode rather than an incident.
- A clear recommendation on where the work should run, including when the answer is "a normal server."
The honest limit: this is our most speculative line
Honest limit: this is the most speculative line we offer, and the one most likely to end at the diagnostic with "your latency budget does not require this." That is a good outcome.
Where this starts
A week-long diagnostic, fixed fee, ending in a written assessment that names the decision, the measurable outcome and whether this is worth building at all.
